The Right Data Protection Formula from Spinbackup

Cloud-to-Cloud Backup 0 3293

We’d like to share our formula of the right data protection for Individual Users.

A classic story
You’ve just bought a new laptop where you are going to keep all your critical data. A bad news is that sooner or later it will get broken, since most computer manufacturers provide a year warranty only. It means there is a big chance that your hard drive or CPU or something else will ‘tell’ you “byeee” . One more bad news – if your computer dies there is a huge chance to lose all your critical data forever. You can buy a new laptop easily but you can’t buy your data because it’s priceless.

How can you protect computer data against loss disasters?

Thanks to cloud services, it’s easy nowadays! And keeping all data in the cloud provides you a lot of benefits and flexibility to work with. First of all, after buying a new laptop you need to find a secure cloud storage where you can keep your data to sync your laptop online. There are many cloud providers that offer cloud storage services. One of the best solution on the market in our opinion is Google Drive. Once you upload your data from your PC/MAC to your Google Drive account you need to install a local Google Drive tool to synchronize your computer with your Google drive account.

Since Google Drive allows you to edit your files, delete them, rename, update, share, etc. there is always a risk that your data can be corrupted or will be deleted by an accident or on purpose. Google has an internal backup and recovery solutions but they are not available for end users. That’s why you as an Individual Google user have no ability to restore your corrupted or deleted data.

How can you protect cloud data from loss disasters?

In order to protect your data stored in the cloud you need to find the right Cloud-to-Cloud backup service that can provide you with the 3 core features:

  1. Ability to backup your data automatically and on a daily basis without involving you in the process.
  2. Ability to utilize an incremental backup using version control.
  3. Ability not to allow anyone to delete your backed up data.

So the final formula of the right data loss protection is pretty simple:

… and you are done!

So if your data is being corrupted or lost from your PC, you go to the cloud service and restore it from there. If you lose or corrupt your data on your PC and in the cloud at the same time you go to your cloud-to-cloud backup provider and restore it from there.

… and we wish the restore button will never happen in your life !
