TOP Frequently Asked Questions

How secure is SpinOne? Can SpinOne access my backed up files as well?

No, the files are encrypted both in transit and at rest. Top level 256-bit AES encryption is used to process and store your backed up data.

Can I cancel my account?

Yes, you may cancel your account at any time. Please note that as you cancel your account, all your data will be automatically removed from the Spinbackup servers. To cancel your account, you need to send us a request from your dashboard.

Can I delete my backed up data?

No, you can’t delete your backed up data. The reason for this is because this functionality may cause data loss due to accidental or purposeful deletion. So for your data security sake we decided not to allow data deletion. If you need to save storage space, don’t back everything up, instead use a selective backup option.

Where will my G Suite cloud data be backed up to? What compliances does SpinOne have?

You may choose to backup your sensitive data at a data center of your choice between GCP, AWS, or Azure. You may also choose your exact data location. Spinbackup is SOC 2, OAuth 2.0 and GDPR compliant.

What types of data is backed up and how frequently?

Data from your G Suite services is backed up either 1X or 3X a day.

What value will the Apps Audit provide for my organization?

Scan all your 3rd party apps automatically and provide security expertise on if they are trusted or can be risky for your organization.

How does Spinbackup surface risky apps to Admin and what actions are available?

We show the apps in the Apps Audit, provide details on why they are risky, then the Admin may manually or automatically blacklist and uninstall the app.

Google Provides Google Vault. Why do I need SpinOne?

Google Vault is an archive service. It doesn’t do a daily backup. Spinbackup is a true backup provider with version control. Google Vault + Spinbackup is the right disaster recovery plan for your organization. More details at https://spinbackup.com/blog/google-vault-archiving-vs-spinbackup-dlp/

How does Ransomware Protection work? What is the process like?

In case you are hit by ransomware through the cloud, we detect the ransomware attack, stop the source, identify the number of damaged files, and recover them back for you automatically.
